Ice Rink

Back next winter

Just some of the rules of the rink: (Subject to change at any time, and our attendant has final authority over what is allowed or not)

Rule #1. All skaters (Kids and Adults) must follow the instructions of our rink attendant.  Please ask permission if you are not sure if your activity is allowed.

No fighting, pushing, checking, foul language, smoking, spitting, or high sticking on or around the ice rink.  Bullies (kids or adults) will be asked to leave and possibly banned for the season.

Do not walk on the ice with your regular outdoor boots (road salt used on our walkways will leave melt holes and divots in the ice)

Please wear appropriate safety equipment

For skating on all ice surfaces we request that everyone wear CSA approved helmets.

For hockey rink with pucks: pads, athletic protector, hockey gloves, helmet cage to protect face, shin pads.  When Playing goalie you should have goal pads.
When pucks are in use, even when you are not participating, you require safety equipment inside the rink area.

No sticks are allowed on the pond areas unless given permission (Refer to rule 1)

No hard pucks are allowed to be used on the pond area at any time.  Soft pucks only with permission.

The rink is available to rent for a reasonable cost before or after our regular hours for a reasonable cost to community league members to cover the cost of keeping the lights turned on and maintained

A community league membership is required to use the rink.

No trespassing and unsupervised skating after hours on any ice surface.

The Athlone and Dunvegan Community League and the rink attendant assume no responsibility for the actions of individuals using the ice, rink shack, and surrounding areas.  Skating is at your own risk.

You will be asked to leave if you do not follow the rules or respect the instructions of our rink attendant.  You can be banned from the ice area and charged with trespassing.
